Zach Seabaugh Recounts a Missed Connection with “Girl in a Coffee Shop”

Indie pop musician, Zach Seabaugh, laments the loss of a love he never had in the first place with his latest single “Girl in a Coffee Shop”. With strong daydreaming romanticism, he imagines the possible “could be” scenarios of a missed connection.

“’Girl in a Coffee Shop’ is a song about seeing a stranger in public and wondering what I would say if I got the nerve to walk up to her,” shares Seabaugh. “It’s a feeling that I hope others can relate to when they have wished they said hello to somebody, but felt more comfortable imagining the scenario in their head. By nature, it’s a simple song, but one of the most honest songs I’ve written and I hope others can find relatability in it.”

It’s a flight of fancy painted upon a gentle tapestry of finger picked guitar chords and the gentle heartbeat of a drum. Seabaugh sings with a sense of yearning in his voice that becomes amplified by cinematic strings and cymbals that crash upon the ears like a tidal wave. But when all is said and done within this dream-like musical magic, it comes crashing back to a more mundane reality with the ambient sounds of a bussing tables and gentle chatter in a coffee shop return to signal the end of this fantasy.

“Girl in a Coffee Shop” is available now on major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, YouTube, SoundCloud, and Deezer. Find this and more excellent music on the Alchemical Records Multigenere Mixture playlist on Spotify and YouTube.
