Vintz Desert Opens Up in “The Blue Journal”

By Jaci Jedrych

Softspoken, indie-folk singer Vintz Desert found his passion for music at an original time, during his service in the Marine Corps.

Indie folk-singer/songwriter Desert is a Maryland-based artist. He fine tuned his craft during his time in the military, where he “discovered his voice and passion for telling stories and sharing emotions through song.” He released his debut EP, “through the smoke; a liar” in 2020, and has continued to release EPs and singles since. Desert relocated to the DMV after his first release, allowing him the opportunity to play with other industry professionals like Oliver Hazars. His next EP, “rivers of you, rivers of us” is planned for spring 2022.

His last release, “The Blue Journal” came out earlier this year, and captures the warm, melancholic, nostalgic feeling of love and loss in a supremely emotional way. His “softspoken and raspy voice transfers his pain and experiences from him to his audience,” he explains.

Fans of Luca Fogale or Abe Abraham should check out Desert’s music. Find this and more on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture playlist on Spotify.
