Trapdollazmanny Is Here ‘F.Y.E’

By Jaci Jedrych

23-year old Trapdollazmanny’s latest project is his most recent bedroom-grown masterpiece. Growing up in Prince George’s County, Maryland, his sound is distinct of the culture and energy of one of the richest African-American communities in the United States.

“I got involved with music through my grandfather who was in a 1990’s R&B band called ‘The Rough Band,’ and growing up, hearing the stories and seeing him perform really made me want to do music.”

Trapdollazmanny started making music at 14 just for fun. As he matured, he progressed in production and vocal production, all from his bedroom at home, eventually releasing his first song in 2019.

“My goal with my music career is to help those who have insecurities flip them into something positive and own them instead of letting the insecurities hold power over them. I make music for people of all races, sexualities, etc.”

His latest album is called “F.Y.E.”, which stands for “For Your Entertainment.” The smooth and unique flow in the songs, including “Say The Word,” is both intriguing and powerful. An almost addicting vibe, Trapdollazmanny has created something brand new.

“It shows my versatility and how different I am and how no one else in the industry sounds like me right now. There were times when I was very insecure about my voice, but becoming an artist has taught me that individuality is power and that if all music artists sound the same, the music industry would be very bland and boring.”

Foghat’s Roger Earl Refuses to Slow His Ride

By this point in his life, Foghat founding drummer Roger Earl has visited quite a few doctors. But what may be surprising is that the percussionist, 77, is quick to point out that many of the medical professionals who have worked on him also enjoy rocking out.

“Nearly all the doctors and surgeons I know, they all play something: trumpet, sax, violin, guitar,” Earl said recently. “There’s not too many drummers that are surgeons, there’s probably a good reason for that!”

Earl half-jokingly invites his surgeon-rockers to join him and the other members of Foghat onstage at the Fillmore in Silver Spring March 9, where they will be headlining the Rock and Roll for Children Foundation benefit for the Children’s Inn at NIH. Earl, the only original member of Foghat still in the band, will be banging the skins behind guitarist Bryan Bassett and other members Scott Holt and Rodney O’Quinn. “Slow Ride,” the band’s 1975 megahit, is all but assured to be on the setlist, along with tunes from Foghat’s most recent record, “Sonic Mojo.”
