Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps Search for ‘The Holy Grail Of Truth’

By Jaci Jedrych

The latest track out of Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps, “The Holy Grail Of Truth”, found its inspiration in a horror movie.

Guitar became a passion for Tom Tikka at the age of six after hearing Paul Anka’s “Lonely Boy” in his father’s old Chevrolet. His songwriting journey began quickly after. Though he was part of a number of bands in his youth, he signed a solo deal under the alias of Tom Spark which was not met with much success. After a break from music, he formed a songwriting group, which also eventually disbanded, but was followed by his entrance into The Impersonators in 2017, a group he plays with to this day, alongside his robust solo career.

His latest track, featured on his sophomore album, finds inspiration from both The Exorcist and experiences with love.

“’The Holy Grail of Truth’ was inspired by The Exorcist. I was watching the movie and my mind began to wonder into the dreaded area of demonic possession. At the same time, I wanted to play around with the idea of two people being so one that it’s difficult to know where one begins and the other one ends,” said Tikka.

Fans of Gene Clark or Private Line should check out this track, as well as the full length album it appears on, Better Man, newly released on all major platforms. Find this and more great music on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture playlist on Spotify
