Tiny Party Brings the 80’s Vibe with New Single

By Margaret Adams

Alternative rock band Tiny Party has just released their new single, “80,” their first single of 2022. The band, which formed during the COVID-19 pandemic, features new addition, guitarist and producer Nathan Johnson (Enjoyer, Mat Kearney) on the track.

Nashville-based musician and producer Justin Nelson formed the original duo with Phoenix-based guitarist Joseph Sardella in a spur-of-the-moment way after the two spent a night creating their first single, “Panic.” The two came together due to their shared love of 80’s post-punk records, and have been working together on Tiny Party ever since,

The single itself is a wonderfully energetic homage to the sounds and synths of the 80’s. From the beginning of the song with pounding drums, to the end with the Pac-Man dying sound effects, the track puts the listener in a time machine, while also contributing their own modern spin on the well-established sounds.

“We wanted to write something that pushed the boundaries of a home recording,” said the band. “Something that sounded so much bigger and massive than what you would think is possible to make in your bedroom. ‘80’ became that song.”

Fans of The Killers, The War on Drugs, Arcade Fire, and Bleachers should check out Tiny Party’s new single “80,” available on your favorite streaming platform. Listen to this song and other great music on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture on Spotify.
