We Rock! Camp, Washington DC’s finest retreat for adults to explore their creativity and connect with their inner rock star returns to The Pocket at 7DrumCity on March 26, 2023.
In just two days, campers learn a new instrument, form a band, and write an original song. At the Showcase, they’ll perform their new music just for you! We Rock! Camp is the adult version of Girls Rock! DC’s Summer Camp, a program for young folks to build connections and express themselves through music. All the proceeds from this event go to supporting Girls Rock! DC’s youth programs, to continue elevating the next generation of rock stars!
Founded in October 2007 by an all-volunteer collective of DC metro area musicians, teachers, artists, and community organizers, Girls Rock! DC fosters a supportive, inclusive, and equitable space that centers girls and non-binary youth, especially Black and Brown youth. Girls Rock! DC bolsters leadership, self-expression, and a passion for social change through creative collaboration and community power-building.
Since opening its doors November 1, 2019, The Pocket at 7DrumCity has consistently proven itself to be one of those powerful community collaborators with Girls Rock! DC. The Pocket provides a space where campers both young and old can gain insights from experienced staff who share their daly knowledge and love of music, live performance, and sound and lighting equipment with attendees. For many, this is not only their their first opportunity to experience the songwriting process, but also their first time ever taking the stage.
In order to be able to forge lasting change within the local creative community, collaborations like the one that has taken place between Girls Rock! DC and The Pocket over the last five years must occur, and should be celebrated and encouraged. Every organization touches the hearts and minds of the community in their own unique way, but our ability to achieve more together has been proven time and again. Alchemical Records is pleased to partner with Girls Rock! DC and The Pocket to help bring awareness to this exceptional event elevating women, trans people, and gender non-conforming creators of DC, MD, and VA within a global context.

Daniel Warren Hill is an American musician, writer, and motivational speaker. He is best known as the frontman for Washington DC area Alternative Rock band YellowTieGuy, as co-founder of Capitol Groove Collective, and increasing the exposure of artists on a global scale through his work with Alchemical Records.
