The Bablers are Feeling the Love with Remastered “You Are The One For Me”

By Charlie Maybee

Finnish pop rock band, The Bablers, are feeling the love in their newest single “You Are The One For Me”. Pulling from 1990’s power pop influences, the song made its debut as a tribute written by front man, Arto Tamminen, for a friend’s wedding.

Driven by guitars dripping with chorus effects, the song moves and grooves at an easy pace making it versatile for slow or fast paced dancing. It has an undeniably positive energy that radiates outward as the band powers through large choruses with fun Beatles-esque falsetto melodies. Within it is everything you could ask for from a pop band – catchy hooks, driving rhythms, and grooves that are endlessly danceable.

Initially part of the larger album Like The First Time, this is a new remaster of a song that is breathing new life into music by introducing it to new geographic locations. Recollecting early memories of the song, Tamminen recalls that “One dark and warm spring evening 1998 in Tokyo, my friend, who was working in Nokia Tokyo’s office, was hosting his business guests. At the end of the evening the group went into a popular karaoke bar. During the event, he noticed something strangely familiar being performed at the karaoke… a song he had heard before in Finland, at his wedding many years ago! Yes, someone was performing ‘You Are The One For Me’ at a karaoke bar in Tokyo!”

Having found successful airtime in both Finland and Japan, this is the first big push for The Babblers to reach more international acclaim. We suggest throwing it on a summertime, pool side playlists and usher in a roll of good times.

“You Are The One For Me” is available on major streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Find this and more great music on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture playlist on Spotify.
