Teghan Devon is a life-long musician, writing songs and performing from a very early age. Much like an animator who knows how to arrange basic lines and curves into vibrant imagery, Devon has an innate sense of how to turn simple acoustics into something that really resonates with the spirit. She weaves her melodies around relatable lyrics that have earned her accolades from Texas to Rocky Mountain folk festivals, and back to the east coast.
With all due respect and appreciation for live performance, there’s an adage about how there’s no business like show business. Viewers may recognize one of Devon’s pieces on MTV’s Ghosted: Love Gone Missing. The song, “Maybe Then,” was one of 4 tracks in an EP titled “Little Lion,” which she wrote while grieving the loss of her yellow lab, 13-year-old Sarge. In her own words, “We’ve all lost someone we loved. My someone happened to have paws, and the biggest, purest heart.”
If that isn’t purely relatable, nothing is.
In heartfelt fashion, Devon’s January 21 release, V.I.P., talks about “having a good time with genuine friends, and genuine friends only.” The world can always use more of such songs. This indie-bop boasts “a spirited piano base with notes of Fiona Apple and Phoebe Bridgers,” so fans stay tuned.
