SUAD’s debut album, Waves released January of 2021, is an auditory tour de force, hearkening airs of Hozier, Norah Jones, and The War on Drugs, and coalescing into a sound that is fresh, honest, while simultaneously both retro and modern. Road-trip music at its best, Waves is SUAD’s follow-up full-length album after a string of successful singles and EPs, and features her at her most refreshing and refined thus far.
Hailing from Finland, SUAD has a voice which is strong and full of heart. She’s worked on multiple domestic and international projects since 2015, all leading up to the release of Waves; the title track bringing us face-to-face with SUAD’s soul, evoking emotions of triumph over obstacles and persevering in the face of adversity. A message we could all use in times such as those we’ve seen over the last year.
