Splizzard Listens to His ‘Music Box’

By Jaci Jedrych

This reading of Alchemical Records content provides a multimedia experience for our audience while increasing the accessibility of our content to persons with hearing loss, low vision, dyslexia, physical or motor disabilities, or are on the autism spectrum.

With the goal of bringing back “real rap,” Splizzard’s title track for his latest album is honest, thoughtful, and just plain catchy.

Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Music Box is Splizzard’s first full-length album, with 18 songs. He has been releasing singles and EPs since 2019. As a rapper and songwriter, he describes himself as “daring, full of hope and reflective of his experiences, thoughts and ambitions, turning his pain into purpose and his lessons into studio sessions.”

In his titular song “Music Box,” his fast-paced flow is cinematic and exciting, setting him apart from your typical rapper. His bars are musical and authentic, and even when he disses the opposition, he does so in a creative way. “Music Box” is a gripping, fast-paced song that sits well atop the beat.

Fans of Black Caviar or Vince Staples should check out Splizzard’s music for its cinematic flow.
