Scott the Pisces and Binx Declare that “Summer 22” is Here!

By Charlie Maybee

Scott the Pisces and BINX have collaborated on the hottest summer jam of the year aptly titled “Summer 22”. Remotely produced from the artist’s bedrooms, it manages a ton of fun and good vibes that flow like sunshine.

Writing about the song’s intent, Scott writes that it “harnesses the euphoria of what we’ve all wanted this summer to be. A sense of joy, wonder, and freedom the world has been stripped from the last few years, following the pandemic”. You can feel the nostalgia and yearning for these kind of summer vibes in each note as the song propels a natural, danceable groove. “We’ve had a year that kinda sucks / When we felt like giving up” BINX sings through the end of the first chorus, “oh I wish that this was a dream”.

Perhaps it’s the fizzy and bubbly back beat or the brightness of the guitar chords, but you there’s a natural sense of warmth that permeates the entire song. Vocally, its reminiscent of the same nostalgic vibes as “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry as Scott and BINX dream of being in the sunshine and among good friends. Fans of Kesha or Lady Gaga will also find a lot to love about the musical pep in the step of this song.

If you don’t find yourself grooving to the music on this one or get immediately mentally transplanted to into poolside chairs, I would be very surprised. There’s an endless amount of fun to be had with this song as it puts forward positive vibes that this summer will be one to remember.

“Summer 22” is available on major streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and SoundCloud. Find this and more great music on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture playlist on Spotify.
