Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer Chin Injeti is a powerhouse of a professional.
An accomplished artist and founding member of Juno Award winning group Bass is Base, Chin has amassed a number of incredible accomplishments throughout his own career while also contributing as a writer and producer for big name artists like Drake, P!nk, Aloe Blacc, Dr. Dre, and K’naan. He has been recognized by the Recording Academy as a recipient of a Grammy with Lecrae and two with Eminem. He received a Juno with K’naan, and a SOCAN Award for Songwriter of the Year.
Inspired to fuse nostalgic sounds from the 80s with his own modern and refreshing style, Chin’s “Expensive” features Jarrel The Young in a synth filled environment bringing “Died In Your Arms Tonight” by Cutting Crew to mind. Deep listeners may note the surprising nod to Trance Atlantic Air Waves through the use of vocalesque synth melodies floating in the background.
“‘Expensive’ is about the self realization that the passion within is sacred,” notes Chin. “Although we know how powerful this desire is and how much it should be respected when we meet that special person we immediately want to give it all to them and pray that they can take us to higher levels of ecstasy.”
“Expensive” reveals the scope of responsibility we have toward one another in a relationship, and perhaps analyzes the mutual cost and sacrifice that one must inevitable accept with that responsibility.

When D.C. venues were ready to reopen after COVID-19, indie pop duo GLOSSER was ready to perform. The two, Riley Fanning and Corbin Sheehan, formed the band pre-COVID out of a shared aesthetic vision and passion for music storytelling.
Their first album *DOWNER* was released in January 2023, however they have decided to release a [__deluxe version__](https://open.spotify.com/album/0KLORhtj3ohV4FtbdjoKu5?si=iNZX9fiZSm2M6V8pRdBkow) exactly one year later containing four new tracks – two remixes, a reimagined song, and a cover – that they are hoping will give it a second life and allow them to continue performing around the area.
The band explains that they have spent many shows opening for touring bands that traveled through D.C. “We made music and then venues started to open again,” Sheehan says. Rather than having the “typical grungy” D.C. band experience, they uniquely went straight to club shows.
