New Single “Sorry I’m Not Sorry” by Linc Bradham is Unapologetically a Good Time

By Daniel Warren Hill

The third single from experimental and jazz fusion artist Linc Bradham’s forthcoming full length album, Learning, “Sorry I’m Not Sorry” makes no apologies for speaking hard truths lyrically while alternating between moments of soft reflection and funky, groove-filled movements.

We’ve been following Bradham’s journey since the release of his debut single “Save You,” and sophomore release, “You Awoke Me” earlier this year. In addition to being a contributing writer with Alchemical Records, Bradham is a member of the U.S. Armed Forces transitioning into his new role as an audio engineer with the U.S. Army Band.

Having enlisted the help of top-quality talent in the form of Max Christman (drums), Darien Converse (bass guitar), and Daniel Seriff (guitar) for all the tracks from Learning, Bradham (vocals, keys) has also taken the opportunity that a staggering 17 songs provide for the occasional collaboration. “Sorry I’m Not Sorry” features another DMV area artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Gina Sobel, who performs saxophone on the track. Bradham revealed how we intentionally secretly asked both Sobel and Seriff to record their own full-length solos intending to blend them together as you hear them on the song, but Sobel and Seriff were blown away when they originally learned about this shrewd production technique and heard their parts interwoven for the first time.

Check out “Sorry I’m Not Sorry” below, or find it on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture playlist on Spotify, and stay tuned for more tracks from Learning, engineered and mixed by Collin Peterson (Hannah Jaye and the Hideaways; Augustus James), and mastered by Grammy award-winning engineer Greg Lukens (Rush).

Foghat’s Roger Earl Refuses to Slow His Ride

By this point in his life, Foghat founding drummer Roger Earl has visited quite a few doctors. But what may be surprising is that the percussionist, 77, is quick to point out that many of the medical professionals who have worked on him also enjoy rocking out.

“Nearly all the doctors and surgeons I know, they all play something: trumpet, sax, violin, guitar,” Earl said recently. “There’s not too many drummers that are surgeons, there’s probably a good reason for that!”

Earl half-jokingly invites his surgeon-rockers to join him and the other members of Foghat onstage at the Fillmore in Silver Spring March 9, where they will be headlining the Rock and Roll for Children Foundation benefit for the Children’s Inn at NIH. Earl, the only original member of Foghat still in the band, will be banging the skins behind guitarist Bryan Bassett and other members Scott Holt and Rodney O’Quinn. “Slow Ride,” the band’s 1975 megahit, is all but assured to be on the setlist, along with tunes from Foghat’s most recent record, “Sonic Mojo.”
