Intended to provide some perspective in proximity to Mental Health Awareness Month, “The Glitch”, is the latest single by rapper, singer, producer, and DJ, CRRNT.
In addition to interviewing individuals with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation, Current wrote this track as a way of expressing his own battle with mental health and his desire to help others understand that they are valuable and wanted each and every day.
After everything I’ve been through / I’m still out here standing / You can’t stop what I was sent to do
“Glitch” by CRRNT is more of an anthem of encouragement rather than a song that dwells on the spiraling experiences or negative emotions those with mental health conditions often face. CRRNT acknowledges them in spirit, but quickly identifies that small changes can often yield significant improvement.
I see my imperfections / I’m so scared of connection / Why am I obsessed with perfections / I need to make some corrections
For fans of Logic, Adrian Stresow, NF, and Andy Mineo, CRRNT is a Conscious Hip-Hop artist you will want to keep an ear out for. We discovered Current earlier this year with his single, “Man On An Island” and our only regret is not being introduced to his work sooner.
