Molly Mae Wants to Know

Following a series of features, including on Liam Mockridge’s debut album, Palma’s “Got me Like” and KASPERG’s “Give You My All,” which collectively received New Music Friday support across the Nordics, Soundcloud Freshly Pressed, and Apple Music plus YouTube Music editorial slots, the 24-year-old Finnish-Swedish producer and singer Molly Mae has arrived with her debut single “I Wanna Know.”

Growing up in a musical family, she began writing music at an early age. In a spur of the moment gut-feeling, the young artist decided to quit her university degree in Finland and move to Berlin to pursue a career in music. She began writing and producing her own music, and after a series of successful vocal features on other artists tracks, including Liam Mockridge, Palma, and KASPERG, she finally teamed up with the latter named Finnish producer – completing her first string of singles to be released on KASPERG’s label Lost Favourite.

Filled with catchy grooves and vocal hooks, the track was written and produced by Molly with co-production from KASPERG. This piece brings a little sense of nostalgia for the early 2000’s, while staying modern. As the first in a series of singles to come across 2021 ahead of a debut EP in 2022, we can expect a lot more exciting music from this female producer and songwriter making her unique mark on the pop music and dance scene. Speaking about the song, Molly explains: “It’s the first track of mine that me and Kasper started working on together, and it’s about wanting to explore a connection further with someone yet not knowing exactly where they stand. You know, that frustration of not understanding why the other person is holding back, I think a lot of people have been there.”
