Mike Jones Band Struck Gold with ‘Magnolia Tree’

By Linc Bradham

Spreading good news through the airwaves comes Mike Jones and his Band. Mike is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in our DMV backyard of Leesburg, Virginia. With a roots-rock/Americana focus, Mike Jones plays an eclectic mix of blues, folk, and rock music and is known for his unique guitar-playing, vocals, and live performances.

Mike Jones is always making music, tapping on something, singing a melody, or strumming a guitar. His notable influences include Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Ben Harper, Neil Young, Ryan Adams, Tyler Childers, and Colter Wall. Lately, Jones is focused on writing and recording a debut collection of songs.

And what a joy it is to see his debut collection coming to fruition with his most recent release, “Magnolia Tree.” Effortlessly weaving an auditory soundscape that is all at once reflective, relaxed, and reminiscing, Mike Jones has struck gold in a track that provides a sonic backdrop to your favorite road trip. Jones is sure to find success with this newest tune and we cannot wait to hear what else he has in store for us.

Listen to “Magnolia Tree” here and see for yourself how Jones has struck gold in finding the balance between dissonance and harmony – all while oozing a sound that is just downright cool.
