This week, the physical embodiment of the bridge between pop, rap, and rock – otherwise known as Machine Gun Kelly – is coming to Virginia Credit Union Live! MGK burst onto the music scene in 2012 when his first album, “Lace Up”, debuted at #2 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and led him to win “US Artist About to Go Global” at the 2012 MTV EMA’s as well as MTV’s 2012 “Breaking Woodie” Award. He then won “Woodie of the Year” in 2013, and his sophomore album “General Admission” once again climbed Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Album charts, peaking at #1. Since then he has been nominated for and won multiple awards, had four certified Platinum singles, one certified Gold single, one Gold album, multiple Billboard chart toppers, and billions of streams. This multi-talented artist is skilled not only at vocals and rap, but also playing guitar, keyboards, and the drums. His ability to fuse genres including pop, rap, hip hop, and rock have driven his international stardom, and only continue to develop as he grows as an artist.
