Librarians With Hickeys Hit the Mark with New Album “Handclaps & Tambourines”

Ohio-based band, Librarians with Hickeys, will be releasing their new album, Handclaps & Tambourines, on October 14. Following the success of their previously released singles “Ghost Singer” and “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You”, the pop rockers are ready to share something bigger with the world.

Modulating between synth and guitar driven pop structures, this larger-than-life album has the feel of old-school college radio reminiscent of R.E.M.’s takeover of the airwaves in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Librarians With Hickeys runs the gambit of feels and timbres without abandoning the chorus-soaked psychedelia that permeates through each song.

Reflective and timeless, this is an album that touts a more-is-more perspective as it pulls in a vast array of influences to the table allowing the band to lose themselves inside the lush vibrations of each song. It’s easy listening that brings the feel of a young philosopher’s thoughtfulness to the forefront touching on themes that sprawl between the mundane and the magical. In many ways, this collection of ballads has the feel of personal journal in that topics can shift on the drop of a dime, something primal in the music tethers them together seamlessly making for and endlessly good time.

Handclaps and Tambourines will be available on major streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music on October 14, 2022. Find this and more excellent music on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture playlist on Spotify.
