With the versatility of jazz and the soul of R&B, LaVance Colley’s latest track “On Top of the World” celebrates joy and success.
Colley has worked with many of the greatest artists of this generation: Beyoncé Knowles, John Legend, Shawn Mendes, Pharrell Williams, Diana Ross, Lizzo, director Robert Townsend, and Andy Grammer, among others. He also serves as the lead vocalist and Emcee on tour with Postmodern Jukebox, a group that remakes the pop songs of today in the styles of the past.
“When me and my writing partner wrote ‘On Top of the World,’ we wanted the song to talk about how life is like when you’re living your life to the fullest, and following the purpose you believe your life was created for,” said Colley on his latest track.
“This song is also about learning how to stay in the moment, and not let things distract you, and learning to be still and feel the wind blowing through your hair, watching a golden sunset, and just enjoying nature and life,” he added.
The song has a catchy hook that keeps the listener encapsulated, and the lyrics empower you to “put on your crown.” Fans of the voices of John Batiste or John Legend should check out “On Top of the World.”
