The Alchemist

Doppe & Kokke’s latest track, Glad to be Alive (feat Justin Erinn), represents hope in a dark place.

The duo was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, and are now based in Switzerland. Together they have over 26 projects under their belt, and they are continuing to grow their discography. Influenced by “Electronic music, Tropical House and music that makes people feel good,” their sound is light and easygoing, with thought provoking lyrics.

“Their sound exhibits not only their versatility and prowess but will surely pave the way for the varied expressions of their musical ideas and artistic craft. This is the music that will push the boundaries of our perception as well as inspire and drive us to introspective conversations. It’s the music that may not change the world, but can change the people in the world.”

Their new track, in collaboration with Justin Erinn, was started in the throes of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, with the goal “to bring some hope back.”

“The song starts with the darker side and then brings out the light in the second verse to bring hope and happiness back,” explains the duo.

The accompanying music video is cinematic but grounded. It illustrates this concept of light out of dark visually through the actions of the main character.

Fans of Avicii, Erlandsson, or Ehrling should check out Doppe & Kokke.
