Kahone Concept Revives the 70s Aesthetic in “Amicably” Music Video

By Margaret Adams

Pittsburgh, PA-native Ben Kahone, otherwise known as Kahone Concept, is rocking with a new music video for his single “Amicably.” The alt-pop track is part of Kahone’s first wave of singles, released on June 3rd.

Kahone started learning multiple instruments as a young kid, but he did not start writing and producing music until math class: using a calculator (Texas Instruments TI-30XIIS) given to him by his high school, he began recording and producing tracks independently.

The music video for “Amicably” clearly takes aesthetic inspiration from 70’s pop culture and retro-futurism, with bright yellows contrasted with muted rust and blue. The video complements the groovy underside of the single, as the beat carries the track through Ben’s own dining room where he filmed the music video.

The video’s homemade creation story illustrates what Kahone wants to portray in his music: “the story of a person who dedicated their life to their art, documenting the attempt at success every step of the way… Whether I ‘make’ it or not, I’ll be doing this until I die, and the thought of the amount of cool songs I’ll make between then and now, is extremely exciting and why I do it.”

Fans of Coldplay, Olivia Rodrigo, and The Script should check out Kahone Concept’s new music video for “Amicably.” Find this and more great music on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture playlist on Spotify and YouTube.
