Josh Sallee and K.A.A.N Can’t Be Bothered with New Collaboration “Let Me Live My Life”

By Charlie Maybee

Oklahoma based rapper, Josh Sallee, is not taking unsolicited advice in his new single “Let Me Live My Life” featuring K.A.A.N. who uplifts the track their rhythmic tenacity adding to the overall sense of rebellion.

Dedicated to a “take-no-shit” attitude, Sallee starts off with a warning “Probably gonna blow you off” before angrily spouting “why you on my ass??” which leads into some rhythmic shouting that boasts a confident stance. The message comes through clearly: he is staying true to his own path and retaining the right to make his own choices about how he’s moving forward.

As the the second collaboration between Josh Sallee and K.A.A.N. since the release of “Awayo” in 2015, Let Me Live My Life” puts the duo’s chemistry on full display. “I met K.A.A.N. through the internet in April of 2015. I heard a random verse of his and was instantly a fan,” explains Sallee. Since making the smart choice to bring K.A.A.N into his own artistic headspace, these two collaborations demonstrate their capacity to turn out multiple bangers as they continue to charge full speed ahead.

Overall, the track manages a confrontational attitude, but does so in a way that leans back rather than digging in. Chill vibes persist despite the rapid rhymes and phrasing showing that these two can’t be bothered by what other people are doing. Choosing to focus on themselves gives the song a sense of confidence that allows you sit back and relax.

“Let Me Live My Life” is available on majors streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Amazon Music, YouTube, Pandora, and SoundCloud. Find this and more great music on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture playlist on Spotify.
