Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jake Thistle may prove to be a contemporary Jackson Browne with his latest single, “The Dreamer.”
Few singer songwriters have the breadth and depth of Jackson Browne, whose self-titled debut album yielded a number of Top-40 hits in 1972. It is highly possible that we are witnessing the rise of his modern day counterpart through the music of New Jersey-based recording artist Jake Thistle.
Whether through vocal inflection, the melodic turn arounds, or the classic rock instrumentation, “The Dreamer” creates a musical environment that provides a familiar space for Jake’s emotive performance and the sense that his lyrics are as comforting as they are introspective.
An official artist for WhyHunger’s Artists Against Hunger and Poverty, alongside legends like Bruce Springsteen, Brandi Carlisle, Carlos Santana, and Jackson Browne, himself, Jake Thistle draws on his influences in the spirit of community and humanitarian efforts. The American Cancer Society also recognized him for his significant contributions to the cause through his music.
Although Alchemical Records and I are a little late to the game, Jake’s music has already been shared by CBS News, Variety, Billboard, American Songwriter Magazine, BBC Radio, The Record, WCBS FM, NYC’s Q104.3 FM, Norman’s Rare Guitars, All Guitar Network, and a wide range of other news outlets.
You can be sure that Jake has a new fan in me. I hope he finds a new fan in you.
