Jaclyn Bradley Shows Heartbreak and Healing with “Love Killer”

By Margaret Adams

Ohio-born singer-songwriter Jaclyn Bradley has released her new single “Love Killer.” The song is a particularly emotional one, as it is Bradley’s first single since her divorce; the song beautifully details the moments of recovery and healing, as well as the heartbreak that comes from the end of her relationship.

Bradley has always been involved with music; she received her opera degree from Indiana University. After graduation she went from New York City to Los Angeles, recording music solo and with a band. She recorded two albums and toured the LA music scene as a singer/songwriter and as back-up singer to Ty Stone (Kid Rock), Michael Satrazemis (The Walking Dead), Gretchen Bonaduce (Vh1) and sang with Terri Nunn (Berlin). On top of her career as a musician and her television appearances on Vh1, The Voice of Holland, and Ireland’s Got Talent, Bradley is a board certified music therapist, and has led the largest music therapy study in history to research live music in surgery, which was published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

“Love Killer” is an incredible power ballad that takes clear influence from the melancholic indie favorites. With vocals reminiscent of indie-pop artist Mitski and powerful synths, the Bradley reaches an emotional depth that emphasizes the message of healing, despite how painful the process is.

“I have held onto this song for awhile,” says Bradley, “The writing/production process happened in a dark place. I think I delayed its release a bit because it is deeply personal and I needed the song to belong to only me for awhile… yet with time, healing, and forgiveness, I am ready to share it from a place of light and to connect to others through music again.”

Fans of Florence and the Machine, Bat for Lashes, and Mitski should check out Jaclyn Bradley’s new single “Love Killer.” Listen to the track on our Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture playlist on Spotify.
