J. France Feels “Universes Apart”

By Margaret Adams

Why does it feel like we are universes apart/ Two hearts, lightyears away

American singer-songwriter J. France has released their fourth ever single “Universes Apart,” a dreamy, EDM track that delves into the way two lovers can be together, but feel “lightyears away.”

“Universes Apart” is the songwriter’s first release of 2022, after releasing her first three singles in 2021, including her debut, “HER.”

“Universes Apart” is an ethereal and cinematic exploration into the chasms of relationships, memory, and lost love. France’s beautiful vocals and emotional lyrics add a layer of vulnerability to the EDM track; in fact, vulnerability, honesty, and acceptance are hopeful goals in J. France’s mission with music.

“When you hear my music, I hope you can let go of the person you feel pressured to be,” writes J. France. “That’s what makes it so powerful. It has the ability to speak to us in ways we didn’t even know we needed to hear. It understands us in ways no one else ever could. It’s our constant companion through life, no matter what we’re going through.”

“Universes Apart” is the perfect add to your “crying in the club” playlist. Find this and more exciting new music on our Alchemical Multigenre Mixdown playlist on Spotify.
