J. Crum and CZAR Josh Collaborate on Conscious New Single, “Life”

Streetlight Sounds CEO and award-winning rapper J. Crum has released a new introspective single, “Life”, featuring Culture Villains emcee CZAR Josh, along with his new album, Valiant

This hip-hop song immediately grips you with its production and instrumentation from Tory Hooks. J. Crum comments on gentrification and other unfortunately prevalent issues in “Life”. CZAR Josh adds a new voice and vibe to the track, certainly making the music’s strong message stand out. The song is pleasant to the ears, which makes you want to pay more attention to the contrasting lyrics.

These two are honest when addressing how poorly Black people are treated in America: “We don’t pull any punches with this one; we speak on our experiences as Black men and how gentrification and the system as a whole has affected us.” “Life” will certainly make you think, as we need to stop and do more often these days.

According to his management, “J. Crum does not hide behind a facade of perfection; instead, delivered via hard, punchline-heavy bars and smoothly crooned hooks, he presents a raw, real, and relatable version of himself in his music, one that speaks to listeners of every walk of life.” This is exceptionally true in this honest track – We would love to hear more from J. Crum in the future, so be sure to check out his new album, Valiant
