Escape Ring, Debut Single “Winning the War” for Your Mind

Escape Ring releases their debut single “Winning the War” containing the joys of a classic rock song “with the sonics of today,” filled with pleasant harmonies and words of wisdom. From Melbourne, Australia, this is what the band sets out to create – a continuation of the genre with their own spin.

This song is about conquering the voices we have inside our heads, finally finding some peace in what we’re doing: “Voices that I would hear inside of my head have really started to calm down … They really pushed my world around,” it begins. The chorus celebrates this triumph: “Now I feel like I’m winning the war / Feel like I’ve opened a door,” sings lead songwriter Darren Moss.

“One of the things I struggle with in my life, and it is less and less as I work on it – is just fighting my own mind,” Moss says. “Like convincing yourself you can do something and then the next day starting over again from square one and having to do it again … I wanted to write something that anyone could put on and use to pump themselves up.”

The track was mixed by LA mixers TJ Routon (Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj) and Ariel Chobaz (Drake, Rihanna). Escape Ring is currently prepping songs from their forthcoming album Anybody Can Do Anything.

“Winning the War” is easy to sing along to, to grow your confidence as you go through the hard things in life. Watch the pleasant animated lyric video here
