Following Emanuel’s ‘Need You’ with a video directed by Idris Elba, the Canadian-Ehtiopian artist releases his debut EP, Session 1: Disillusion, with another standout single ‘Addiction’.
The song brings a ton of energy and emotion, and reminds me of a young Frank Ocean. “It’s a funny feeling when the pain goes down, it’s the same feeling when the drugs run out,” bringing to our attention how much addiction can be apart in one’s life. This song was released on Juneteenth, a symbolic day in the celebration of freedom and emancipation for all enslaved Black people of America. Check out this amazing track below.
