Dillastrate Throws a “Party in My Head”

By Jaci Jedrych

If you’re looking for the perfect song to vibe in the sun to, look no further than Dillastrate’s newest single “Party in My Head,” featuring Emily C. Browning. The band mingles soul, pop, reggae, and more to create a unique sound that brings the sunshine to your speakers.

The New Zealand-based group released their self-titled debut album “Dillastrate” in 2019, as well as a number of singles. They call their signature sound “neosoul pop,” combining many traditional analogue genres with modern digital touches, in a way they call “humanizing machines.”

“Party in My Head” is the ideal song to blast all summer long. The distinctive and unique neo-reggae sound is chill and laid back and slightly juxtapose the stronger vocals, creating a compelling soundscape. This pairs perfectly with an ice cold lemonade on the beach, or a chill day with friends.

Fans of neosoul music like Steve Lacy, Frank Ocean, or even Daniel Caesar should check out Dillastrate for their easy-going tunes.
