Dasha Channels Raw Emotion in “Dramatic”

Twenty-two-year-old pop singer/songwriter Dasha is authentically herself in her new single, “Dramatic”.

With the success of her debut EP, $hiny Things, Dasha is working on new music. There is a commitment to her art inspired by the women who came before her. As she puts it, “I’ve always been surrounded by women that are just so unafraid to get what they want. I guess I picked that up.”

This is exemplified in “Dramatic”, as she is not afraid to speak her mind and release her anger and frustration, expletives and all. You can hear the emotion and passion in her voice, over the catchy rock melody, powerful drums, and guitar. It is easy to get sucked into the music as it gains momentum.

“Last year I got broken up with…on FaceTime…after he got back with his ex…after telling me not to tell anyone about us…But he was my first love, unfortunately,” she says. “During the fallout I finally came to my senses. I got pissed at him and called him out for everything, and his response, ladies and gentleman, was that I was ‘being dramatic’. So, naturally, I wrote a song about it.”

Dasha is a longtime artist – growing up in California, she immersed herself in dance, acting, and especially music. By the time she was 12, Dasha was already getting a taste for writing and performing her own music. With the help of her producer brother, Bardo (Trevor Daniel, Beauty School Dropout), Dasha was empowered to pursue music and has never looked back. And there is much for her to come!
