Daniel Angelus Is Not Afraid to Be Vulnerable

By Maura Marcellino

Daniel Angelus is an England-based award-winning singer, songwriter, and music producer who has been creating melodramatic cinematic pop and rock since 2007 as bedroom music. He began making music as a form of therapy to deal with his childhood trauma and struggles.  Angelus collaborated with multi-instrumentalist and producer Tyla-Joe Connett for the very first time during quarantine to co-create “More Than You Love Me.”  His sound is unique, built on “the frailties and wonderment of human life.”

Angelus’ new single, “More Than You Love Me,” is a dreamy song accompanied with a nostalgic music video. The colorful style, gorgeous green field, and solitude come together to present this new and remarkable dream pop anthem. His sparkling sound is reminiscent of the late David Bowie, with synth pop, sweet vocals, thoughtful and vulnerable lyrics, and passion.

“I am just breathing in the smoke of this heartbreak” and “Cos you love him more than you love me” are just some of the tear-jerking and heart-wrenching lyrics blending with the bright beats and fast percussion. With a glamorous instrumental outro, it is no wonder why Daniel Angelus crafted an award-winning soundtrack for European film “The Lights of Dawn” directed by multi-award-winning film director Sadie Duarte.
