Dance It Out with New Single ‘Push Me’ by Freak My House

By Charlie Maybee

“Push Me” is a brand-new single from German house music duo Freak My House (comprised of Josh Kochhann and Oliver Meadow) that is endlessly danceable.

Taking a predominantly minimalist approach, the song sports pulsing bass and electronic drums that provide support for some rhythmic play in the vocal melody. At times, the lyrics are straightforward and echo endlessly into space, but as the song builds and shifts, they become synthesized samples that provide a bubbly texture on top of the main drive of the song. It gives “Push Me” a nice flavor that feels somewhat improvisational, allowing a cool backdrop for dancing.

“Push me / Pull me / never be the same again” is the repeating mantra through the song that gives the listener an active push to start swaying in their seat. There’s a high level of flirtatiousness that emanates from the lyrical variations that follow: “Push me / Pull me / Any way that you like / you can kiss me, tease me / we can go all night.” It is the perfect song for intimate dancing at the club because you can either follow the song lyrics literally for inspiration on how to tear up the dance floor, but it also leaves space for creative choice making.

“Push Me” is available on major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, and TIDAL. Follow our Alchemical Multigenre Mixdown playlist for more great music featured on the site.
