Cherry Lena is a pop & R&B singer-songwriter from Montreal. She first got noticed on Canadian talent show “La Voix” in 2018, and soon after, released her first few singles, setting the tone for her strong sound. Lena’s cover of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” in collaboration with Apashe has received more than 5 million views on YouTube. Additionally, she recently collaborated with High Klassified and Apashe on the song “I’m Fine” from Apashe’s renowned Renaissance album. Three months after the release of her well received single “Down”, Cherry Lena presents us with the sweet and soothing “Mellow Happy.”
The calm satisfaction of feeling only “Mellow Happy” is much needed in this time of heightened stress and worry. Cherry Lena reminds me a little of stylish DMV native Sarina, both incorporating twinkly mellow melodies into their music. If you enjoy hakuna matata R&B inspired tracks, check out “Mellow Happy” below.
