Bitch is Back with New Single ‘You’re The Man’

By Charlie Maybee

The LA-based witchy poet of pop music, Bitch, is back with a new single “You’re The Man” along with a fun music video to accompany the release, featuring cameo appearances by Rachael Price of Lake Street Dive and Rachael Sage. As a primer for her upcoming album release (Bitchcraft drops on February 4), it’s a sign of good things to come from the eclectic musician.

Musically, this is pop at its most bouncy and playful with synthesizers and drum machines that feel carbonated like a can of La Croix or a bottle of bubbly. From the initial pop of the cork, you’ll feel the uncontrollable urge to dance to this power anthem (even if it’s just a wiggle in your seat). It’s intoxicating and can lighten anyone’s day. Throw it on a work or workout playlist, and you’ll be on your way to an encouraging soundtrack that will act as your personal cheerleader.

The dancing goes beyond the groove of the music and fully infects the new music video. Taking place in a large, dark space, Bitch retrieves a broom that is standing in a bright spotlight on its own, and as the remaining members of this contemporary pop coven gather next to her, they take flight with ethereal gestures, popping shoulders, and brooms of their own.

They are gradually joined by a large drumline, and by the end of the video, they are having the biggest, witchiest dance party anyone could ask for. The imagery of the coven remains the foundation, but it becomes layered with pop music sparkle.

“You’re The Man” is available on major streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. The accompanying music video is also available on YouTube, and be sure to pre-order and save the official release of Bitchcraft for February 4 on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, TIDAL, and Kill Rock Stars.
