Ben Caplan in Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story at Theater J

If you have a taste for amazing theatre productions, then it’s time to start preparing yourself for Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story. Created by award winning Canadian artists and playwrights Ben Caplan, Hannah Moscovitch, and Christian Barry, the politically resonant story full of edge and wit has been capturing hearts from Great Britain to New York City. Inspired by a glimpse at past immigration struggles combined with the turmoil of the Syrian refugee crisis in 2015, Old Stock tells the story of two Jewish Romanian refugees who find love on the shores of Canada in 1908. And with an interwoven high-energy klezmer concert performed by acclaimed genre-bending Canadian folk musician Ben Caplan, what more could you possibly ask for?
