August at night Explores Weightless Intimacy With Third Single, “Skinny Dipping”

Self-made lyricist, composer, and producer august at night is celebrating the platform-wide release of his third single, “Skinny Dipping.”

The track follows his debut single, “Realer,” and “Some Nights,” released earlier this year. Compared to the likes of Frank Ocean, Chiiild, Khalid, and Sampha, the artist combines pop, R&B, and new wave elements to expertly craft “music and art for longing souls.”

Telling its story through an expertly crafted  lo-fi atmosphere, “Skinny Dipping” is sultry, soft and sincere. The track artfully conveys the type of intimacy that you sink completely into and get lost in. “Make you feel weightless,” he sings, “if you show me how to breathe here.”

The song explores the moments where the business of life comes to a halt and all of the details fall away to reveal the emotional core at the center of a relationship.  These moments can be hard to articulate, but August navigates the emotional weight with ease — “You ask me what we’re turning into / I say maybe just stay if you need to.”

August at night developed “Skinny Dipping” from an initial acoustic piano performance into its final version — all from inside a walk-in closet. Self-written, composed, and produced, “Skinny Dipping” is a testament to the soulful artist’s healing vision and abilities.

You can listen to “Skinny Dipping” on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixdown playlist — and don’t forget to check out the rest of august at night’s discography on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms.
