ANNA VEE Joins Forces with Rapper Futuristic to Honor Ukraine with Single “Shooting Me Down”

By Margaret Adams

Ukrainian pop singer and songwriter ANNA VEE has released her new single “Shooting Me Down,” featuring American rapper Futuristic. “Shooting Me Down” is the premiere of VEE’s first EP, set for release under her very own record label.

Besides being a singer-songwriter, VEE has a long list of accolades, including medal winner at ”Pop/RnB Vocals – World Championships” in Los Angeles at age 17 and being a Billboard featured songwriter. She also participated in the German Reality TV Show Go Get’em. Her collaboration on “Shooting Me Down” is with rapper Futuristic, who has performed at The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America.

The single is a classic pop rap song; with romantic lyrics, pounding synths, cool production, and truly impressive vocals from VEE, the track is a strong, punchy start to VEE’s new era. Futuristic’s verses are an incredibly energizing part of the song, especially with his beautiful singing section.

“Even though ‘Shooting Me Down’ is a song about heated love that I wrote years ago, I can’t ignore the fact that the title feels relevant today considering all the horrible things going on in the world right now…” said VEE. “I was born in Ukraine and though the intention of the song never was about war I still hope it can give some kind of comfort to all people suffering. That is why I’m donating all my cut from the royalties directly to the victims in the war.”
