Alli Bean Asks ‘Twenty Questions’

By Jaci Jedrych

Victoria, BC, Canada’s musical powerhouse Alli Bean’s latest release, “Twenty Questions,” is warm and jazzy.

Alli Bean is a multi-award-winning Canadian artist. She draws from blues, jazz, and pop for influence as a songwriter and vocalist. Bean’s music represents the “bluesy funky side of the street, with a twist of jazz and a dash of sass for good measure.” Her list of influences include greats like Wynton Kelly, Horace Silver, Fiona Apple, and Amy Winehouse.

As the title suggests, the song asks twenty questions. She describes it as, “an inquisitive ditty to get your toes tapping. If you count them, there really are 20 questions within; sometimes we have to ask the same thing more than once. Sometimes there are no answers.”

In addition to her full-time career as a performing artist, Alli Bean is an educator. She provides instruction in piano and voice to students of all ages and all stages of development. She notes that her passion for live performance is equaled only by her passion for teaching.

Fans of Fiona Apple and Amy Winehouse should check out Alli Bean’s freshest track. Follow our Alchemical Weekly Spotify Playlist for more great music featured on the site.
