Adewolf Shows the Power of a Ride or Die in “Nutella Kisses”

By Margaret Adams

Nigerian born artist Adewolf has dropped the music video for his new single “Nutella Kisses;” the track is from 2SME, a double single release that is made up of “Feel Alive! Ft. Fionn” and “Nutella Kisses,” which was released on June 2.

As a young child in Vancouver, Adewolf started experimenting with music and art; he only began professionally showcasing his creative abilities for the past 4 years. His musical style is described as an “amalgamation of Afrobeats, Hip hop, R&B, and Reggae to form a blend of genres he likes to define as Afrohop.”

In a room surrounded by delicate pink flowers, Adewolf’s video for Nutella Kisses illustrates the sweet, intimate, stripped-down nature of the song. The song is about “a strong, romantic love with a ride or die partner who is as sweet as nutella but has the resilience of Amina, a 15th century Nigerian warrior princess.” He gives off free-flowing energy while performing the track, riding the beat of the song as he sings into the microphone in one hand and a flower in the other.

Look out for Adewolf’s upcoming EP, “Lostalgia,” a musical collage of his memories from growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, scheduled for release later this year.

“Nutella Kisses” is available on major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud. Find this and more great music on the Alchemical Records Multigenre Mixture playlist on Spotify and YouTube.
